      Description

When attempting to build a relocatable, redistributable binary package of ROOT with built-in AfterImage, it seems to be impossible to get the system to ignore headers installed in /usr/local/include, such as those for the jpeg package.

I am already scrubbing the ROOT configure script for /usr/local prior to invocation, but this does not appear to be sufficient for a sane build of AfterImage. The only way seems to be to relocate /usr/local prior to the build, which is not something that we can ask our users to do when building from source.

What we need is a way to tell the build system of ROOT and all its subsidiary packages to ignore /usr/local as a place to find headers and libraries.

This is urgent as it is preventing us from shipping a ROOT package whose source is build-able on OS X with AfterImage while home brew is present.

      Thanks for your help,

Chris Green, for the FNAL SSI dept.
