      Description

      We see 300-400MB gain in memory usage ATLAS reco jobs between root 5 and root 6 releases

      Belle II saw a similar increase but managed to pin some of it down to

      "Loading dictionaries allocates memory in cling which won┬┐t get freed" (see slide 15 in the following presentation from the ROOT workshop)

      "How Belle II reduced memory footprint when migrating to ROOT6"

      They mention use of the ROOTDEBUG as recommended by the root team.

      I tried
      export ROOTDEBUG=True

      and then ran my ATLAS job but didn't find any evidence of autoparsing.

      Was my test correct? Or would I need to build root with this environment set?
